Annual Report 2021


In October 2021, the GPMB published its third annual report, ‘From Worlds Apart to a World Prepared’. The report argues that the failures of the COVID-19 pandemic were rooted in inequality and inaction and exacerbated by geopolitical division. The Board calls for a renewed global social contract and lays out six solutions for a safer world.

Roundtable Documents

In September 2021, the GPMB hosted two roundtable discussions with Board Members and guest participants. The first discussion, held on 2 September, aimed at learning from past health emergencies and developing strategies to move from commitments to action. The second, held on 21 September focused on identifying the root causes of inequalities in the global response to COVID-19 and charting a more equitable path forward. Civil society organizations were invited to contribute written submissions in advance of this latter roundtable. Roundtable summaries and CSO submissions are available below.
